Steve, I think a MOTM user page would be cool. I think it would be a great
format for users to show the "different" stuff since our modules are all
essentially the same. For example, here are some things I could
contribute.

1 - I am planning my MOTM for a wooden case, not a rack. I do currently
have it in a rack, but will eventually build my own case. I could
contribute a photo of my big wood case with design notes. I think it will
actually be in sections like the old Moogs of years ago.

2 - Since I am planning a case. I did not buy the rack mount power supply.
Instead I ordered the "big momma" case supply. Obviously, one needs an
external switch, fuse, etc. I used a 2-unit wide MOTM panel to produce a
"control panel" for my power supply. It has one nice looking neon lighted
rocker switch for the AC and two 30 VDC meters, one wired to each leg of
the +/- 15 VDC output lines. I cut the panel behind the meters to allow
rear illumination and put two high intensity NE-2 neon lights behind each
meter. In the light, the backlights are only slightly visible. But, in
low light or darkness, the meters have an eerie orange backlight that
really has that "retro" appearance. I would be happy to contribute photos.

3 - Long before the recent discussion on end caps, Paul and I were kicking
this subject around. I think that would be really cool, and if I was
planning to keep my MOTMs in racks always I would certainly be OK with the
additional approximate cost. However, I can't see that $ investment for my
40 space rack of MOTM if I will eventually ditch the rack. I plan to use
the 40 space rack until my system and MOTM development gets far enough
along that I will know exactly how big I want my case to be. So, I have an
inexpensive alternative to end caps that anyone can do themselves. At most
decent hardware stores or home centers they sell lightweight aluminum bar
in varied widths. I have found it 3/4 inch wide by 8 foot long. I think
the price was about $6. A pair of those would cap two 20 space racks or
one 40 space. All that would be required is one cut to length and to drill
the holes in the right places for the rack holes (8 holes in each for 20
spaces of rack). I would be happy to contribute the photos and
measurements when I get mine done.

OK, I know that is all a bunch of simple stuff, but sharing of ideas is
what this is all about. Let's here from some others on this subject.
