Subject: Rack rail end cap info

OK, I placed an order today for 500 end caps at the metal shop. I also got
the metal started for the next reound of Stooge panels. So, when I do start
taking orders (yet this month), the wait for delivery will be MUCH less than
last time. The plan is to be able to surprise your wife with a great
synth-geek Christmas gift. <snicker>
I don't have a quote from the painter yet on the end caps. I am trying to
beat him down to a lower per-unit price than what he charges for panels
(although the labor is about the same). However, if we do screen any, the
screening cost for these will be about the same as panels, so those will be
a bit salty. The actual cost to screen a few of them will depend on how
many want screened panels.
Here is what I am thinking on the screening (if Paul approves)

These caps are only 3/4 inch wide. So, what you can screen is limited. I
thought it might look cool to have one set screened in your system, or maybe
one set in each of your cabinets depending on how deep your pocketbook is.
I cannot give you a firm price until I hear back from my painter. But, here
is the estimated selling price. I am very close I can assure you. Assuming
people wasnt screend panels, I plan to offer them 3 different ways.
1. Plain brushed aluminum. The look nice in a SKB case and represent the
economy version. The price for these will be only $3 each.
2. Painted textured black to match the MOTM panels. Price range = $6 to 7
each depending on my success with administering the beating on the painter.
3. Painted texture black with the SYNTHESIS TECHNOLOGY black letters (about
1/2 inch wide?) down the side.
$12 to $14 each (that's each side <ouch>), depending on paint and how many
people want them.
So, that gives you something to think about. I'll probably start accepting
orders for these at the same time I start accepting stooge panel orders.
Stay tuned.
