Subject: OMS-820 Kit

While the OMS-410 kit is still not quite finished. Yes! I am still working
on it. Sorry for the long delay.

I have also been working with Tony, Dave and Larry on also doing an OMS-820
kit (as I originally announced at the beginning of the summer). I have a
solution for the Lumex LED problem. I can maintain the full MOTM format and
still provide all 4 Lumex LEDs. The FP that Dave and Larry release will
hopefully include this unique arrangement. The "trick" I used is mounting
one of the switches horizontally as opposed to vertically. This also makes
the module much more intuitive to use. With the module's 2 pots/kbobs, 3
switches, 2 pushbuttons, 4 LEDs and 2 jacks, this module is very unique and
the 1U panels will have NO spare space.

According to Larry, the Stooge OMS-820 FPs are TENTATIVELY scheduled to be
ready the middle of December. From what I have learned from the OMS-410
kit, I will be shipping kits within a week of the FPs being ready. I have
already started purchasing parts for the OMS-820 kit.

I bit off a lot more than I expected with the OMS-410 kit and I have had a
lot of other obstacles in my life which have ∗∗really∗∗ slowed things down.
On the flip side, I have learned A LOT!!! And this allows me to drastically
speed things up for future kits. I also have a lot more understanding of
what people like Paul and Larry go through to do their kits. And I have to
say that the first one is the hardest.

The tentative price for the OMS-820 kit including shipping, PCB, all parts,
documentation (Tony and mine), schemos, solder, cables, drilled FPs, et al.,
will be $190 for North America. Elsewhere in the world will be US$10 more.
I may also do a few assembled modules. I am not taking orders until I get
the OMS-420 kit out the door, so please continue your patience. Tony does
not have the PCBs done yet, although he is currently working on finallizing
the schematics as I understand it.

Thanks!
