If I wanted to run a circuit that required +/- 12v or +/- 9v from my +/- 15v Power One supply along with my MOTM modules, what is the best way to do that? Or is it not recommended at all? It would still respect the "star-ground" topology, so that's not the question, just the voltage differences.
I know that using those three-pronged regulators is considered a no-no...it's been mentioned from time to time on this list. Would you build some kind of voltage divider or something...? An engineer friend told me off-handedly that it's possible a 12v circuit could run fine off of 15v, but I have real bad luck with making those kinds of assumptions.
Thanks in advance!
