hi moe:

i don't have a lot of time to get into this but i'll try to address your question.
it's really an apples and oranges type thing, in my opinion. they are very different beasts (or fruit as it were). but anyway...another reason it is difficult for me to a/b them is that my current motm configuration is strictly as a stereo filter/processor. i have no oscillators in my motm setup. (i hope to change this). i've never heard an motm oscillator so i can't compare them sonically. the wiard i had been using as an extremely deluxe monosynth. what i can say about the wiard sonically is that to this layman's ear it sounds wonderful (not very helpful is it?) and the output is extremely hot. i know that there were some very good demos on the wiard site. in fact these demos went a long way in making me want to investigate the synth further.

regarding build quality the wiard is extremely top notch like the motm. even though it uses mini-jacks, they are switch craft, not at all like the doepfers, analogue solutions, etc of the world.so i'm using the jacks as an example....... the wiard's build quality is on a par with the motm. i'm a layman, not an ee so paul may take issue with this statement but what i'm saying is, to my eyes and ears the wiard is in the same leage as motm.

regarding funtionality: this is where there is a huge difference. each wiard module is extremely multi functional. example, the classic vco module is a complete monosynth in itself. again see the wiard site for complete details. all of the modules are this complex and multifunctional.

you may ask why i'm selling if it's so wonderful? well like i said in my original post it's really down to cash (which i very little of at the moment) and the desire to expand one of the two systems. i had to make a choice and the simplicity of the motm modules better suit my way of working and thinking. i have a better handle on the way the motm stuff works and it's easier for me to get the results i'm looking for in a short amount of time. with the wiard i found myself getting great but unpredictable results.... this can be a great thing..... but it made me feel stupid some of the time.

anyway...... it's late, i need to get some sleep. i know this isn't a great response to your question but i've done the best i can with the time and energy i have at the moment. if i can be of further assistance please don't hesitate to ask.

regards,
