Subject: Re: [motm] EG-800 debugging question

Bob,

I don't have any experience with Moog equipment, but my understanding that
the trigger/gate signals are not compatible with most other equipment. MOTM
envelope generators are looking for a 0 to +5V transition for the gate
signal. You should connect your Opus 3 gate out to a meter or scope and see
what the signal level is when a key is depressed, and when no key is
depressed.

supply doesn't count), the EG-800. I plugged my Moog (I'm running it
through an Opus 3) into the Gate jack, pressed down a couple of keys and got
a terribly distorted and scratchy sound in return. It was like the envelope
was trying to generate the sound, but couldn't.
