Good news! It's almost July and the temperature in Dallas/Ft. Worth has yet
to hit 95F! This is ∗very∗
unusual. And, it means I can work a few more hours each day without frying.
Even though I have ∗three∗
A/C units, the upstairs is exposed on all 4 sides and it can get 85 when
it's 109 outside.
I am happy to report the kit backlog is rapidly approaching the mystical
zero point. I am waiting for more
MOTM-19As to arrive (by Tuesday, they tell me) and by Monday Angie will
finish kitting the second batch of
'830s. The first batch of 36 kits went pffftttt!!!!! I will finish kitting a
batch of '410s late tomorrow. All that remains
is another batch of '101s. These are about 10-12 days off. I ordered more
yellow box caps for that kit and it
takes about 1 week to get here.
2UB panels arrived today, so I have plenty. I have ordered over $9,000 of
sheet metal to (hopefully) last until
Oct or so. There was an unexpected surge (Ha!) in VCO orders, and I am low
on front panels. If you have
VCO kits on order, you may not see them for 10 days while I wait on panels
(I have about 14 kits).
On the assembled front, I have a schedule I stick to pretty well. The
downside is all I can do is 2 or 3 a day.
It is slow going, but eventually orders will show up at the doorstep.
For the first half of this year, about 640 modules will be shipped. That's
more than I shipped all of 1999 (I shipped
818 last year). That's right at 100,000 individual parts (gack!). We had
some kitting issues last month, but
hopefully kits you are getting now are correct. Please let us know about
problems so I can scour all in-stock
kits for screw-ups.
I went and double-checked the CEM3330 stock + holdback for the '110s. I can
ship, as of today, 23 more then THAT'S
ALL. The VCA portion is covered by the upcoming '130. The RM portion
is...errrr....under investigation :)
I really encourage ∗everyone∗ to send me demos. Poor Mike Marsh has really
helped out. Let's all pitch in (pun!)
and show everyone what we can patch up. They DO NOT have to be full,
mastered works. 10seconds of a certain
sound is fine. People tell me EVERY DAY that the #1 thing that draws them to
the website is the demo files. If
you look at other manufacturere's sites, we absolutely kill them in the demo
dept. And people do download them:
Dave Fulton/John Duval's 3 new demos have been downloaded 250 times in just
3 days!
Thaks again to everyone for waiting for your order. Some fall in the cracks,
some I just zombie out on (I think
you ordered A, but really you ordered B). Sometimes I get in a bad mood, but
I try to be responsive in a mostly
positive way (I do come from a family of laywers, that explains alot).
Well, off to bed!
