Subject: The Mini-wave is here! (almost)

From: "Tentochi" <tentochi@...>
Date: 2001-06-01

I just received an email from John Blacet (as I am sure some of the rest of
you did) and he is currently taking pre-orders for his release of the Grant
Richter/Wiard Mini-Wave with 2 EPROM sockets.

You can pre-order now and save $10 off the regular price. Good deal!

Here is the run down...

MW2090A Mini Wave (assembled) $229 ($239) (Frac-Rac format)
MW2090K Mini Wave (kit) $170 ($180) (Also Frac-Rac format)
MW2090Kmotm Mini Wave (kit, MOTM version. No FP, jacks, knobs, pots) $140
($150) <-- Woo hoo!

As you can see, the MOTM-ized kit is ∗currently∗ only $140. Place your
pre-orders now at:

http://www.blacet.com/store.html

And no, I am in no way related to Blacet Research and I am not receiving any
compensation for this. I am just very excited about this addition to my
baby.

The Stooges are definitely doing an FP. Check out Dave's site for pics or
get the whole low down on Larry's site (http://www.wiseguysynth.com).

I have considered doing an MOTM upgrade kit which would include Stooge FP,
mounting bracket, pots, knobs, switches, etc. The price should be under
$100. If you are interested, please respond to this email privately to me.
Remember that you will still need to by a Mini-Wave MOTM kit from Blacet.
Payment on the OMS-410 kits has been sluggish, so I am a bit hesitant to do
this at the moment...

Additionally, this is not an oscillator! So make sure you have an extra
MOTM-300 to drive it. (Note that Blacet does NOT sell VCOs that will drive
this unit.)

Here is the only new information from the Blacet site:

The Blacet/Wiard Mini Wave is a wavetable lookup device with 256 on board
waveforms (256 bytes per waveform). You drive it with a sawtooth wave and
it tracks the input frequency. Wave and Bank selection are voltage
controllable!

∗ 256 waveform EPROM imcluded
∗ Second LIF EPROM socket (empty) with PROM Select switch
∗ Applications include: audio waveform bank, complex LFO functions, non
linear waveform distortion, quantizer
∗ Free waveform programming software

I have also considered duplicating non-copyrighted EPROMs for the Mini-Wave
community to share if enough people are interested.

Cheers!
