I also ordered some of these cables and I am quite pleased with the result.
He must measure his length on the pre-connected coax. A 24" cable is
about 22.5" from top of connector to top of connector and the overall
length including the connectors is about 28." The same seems to hold true
for the other lengths too.
The cable is identified as "USA-1 High definition instrument cable." The
heatshrink not oly gives color to the cable ends, but also covers the
actual coax to connector jct adding some re-enforcement to one of the the
normal points of cable failure. You could order the same color black-black
if you didn't want the color. I used two colors - one for control and one
for signal path (knowing full well these paths may cross...).
I bought 30 cables for $150 plus $15 for priority shipping. I can't see
spending any time making them at this price. I'd rather be soldering a
module.
