trawling around on the internet as usual i came across this PAiA kit, the
MIDI Brain / CV to MIDI Convertor / 9201

anyone tried one of these..?
the possibilities of a MOTM controlled Yamaha VL1m / sampler / automated mix
(with plenty of S&H) look very interesting
