This sounds great to me! I like the module number, and I especially like the
VCQ input <g> since it would further differentiate itself from the 420 & 410.
If you can't do it without sacrificing the sound than I'd (reluctantly) say
let it go -- I appreciate you mentioning that in many cases it "muddies up
the sound," implying it's more than just throwing an OTA in the Q path as I'd
been led to believe.
But wouldn't putting "Ladder" in the name lure some people in to checking it
out who don't know what a 2040 sounds like (like me, who thought I wanted a
"Moog" type VCF -- until now)? Maybe 2040 Ladder VCLPF?
