I agree with you Larry, the more resolution, the better. Of course there
are trade offs, such as JPG size & download times. I think the high res
photo looks preferable on my 21" monitor at 1280x1024 res, and I have a T1
so it loads quickly. If one has a lesser setup, maybe a slightly smaller
photo than the medium resolution one would be good. On the other hand, if
you want only one photo of each stage due to space requirements, then the
"medium resolution" is probably the way to go. As you say, if the photo res
is too small, it really won't help much.

To help reduce the space requirements, I'm not sure a photo at every stage
is really necessary. Basically, any place it takes a paragraph to describe
a certain procedure, a photo will always help. Some good photo ops: organic
solder done, tempco resistors, assembly of PCB to mounting bracket, assembly
to front panel, final photo of the module with all pots & switches wired and
tied. Oscope traces would also be nice!

Overall, I think photos are a good idea, even if one is an experienced kit
builder. I know when I was building the 420 I could have used one to verify
the install of that tricky Tempco resistor.

My thoughts.
