Maybe not flush with the wall but even really thin would be nice. When I was
a child I assumed by now stereo speakers would be so thin they would just
hand on the wall like paintings. When Acoustats and Magnaplanars and ribbons
tweeters came out I thought we were on the way. But no. Only Fostex went
with a 1.75" deep wall mount speaker. But now I am thinking of something
similar for my Synth.com modules. I could build a case just 2.5" deep (knobs
stick out beyond that). If I wanted to get really anal I could use shorter
PCB spacers and replace the wire headers with direct soldering to the PCB.
Then I could get down to a 1.75" deep cabinet. I'm thinking of going with a
really thin case like this that can sit nicely in my Quiklok studio locator
stand that rolls around where every I want it.
