The metal "comb" thing is a Pomona "test lead holder". They can be bought
from Mouser Electronics for $5.85. They have different widths, so I also
have one that holds 1/8" cables and one that better holds those molded cables
which in my picture don't fit well into the ones shown. I just mounted them
to a block of wood, ran a 7" bolt through the wood and dropped it down the
shaft of a mic stand. It's just that easy and you have a professional
adjustable height cable stand.

configuration of the slots is strange though and looks like you'd have to
remove thicker cables in the front to get at thinner ones in the back, plus
it's 2 to 3 times more expensive than Pomona. But the trays are a nice touch.
