Guys I have a DIY question.. respond off list please because this really
doesn't have anything to do with MOTM. I'm not currently on S-DIY so Im
going to ask here..
--I need a simple preamp circut with the gain variable with a knob.
--I have a +/-12v supply
--I would like it to be able to bring guitars up to synth level (+/-6 or so
volts sound good?), while also allowing my synths to be used too (IE be able
to turn the gain waay down..but not attenuate)

I got an old 741 for the job, will this do?
For guitar levels would I have to make a double gain stage?

offlist please, I dont want to waste MOTM bandwidth...
