i just made an audacity template to help myself when creating eproms using a pc based eprom burner.
i use a minipro tl866cs usb eprom writer, they cost about 40€ on ebay. much cheaper than a simmons eprom blower or a dmx prommer. it works on linux and windows ad you can use it to program many different devices.
i have been using salvaged eproms from discarded electronics, they turn up in a range of sizes, the template helps me pad the data to the right size for the eprom at hand.
hopefully somebody will find it helpful. just open it in audacity, import your samples, follow the instructions in the label track, then export your file as a raw 8bit unsigned pcm file then burn it with your usb eprom burner.
building a pcb with a switch on it to change between 4 samples on a 27c512 eprom is left as an excercise for the reader.
audacity dosent always expand the label track to show al the labels, so you might have to enlarge the size of the label track to see them all
you can find it in the files area of the yahoo group.
p.s. i decided not to sell my sds9.
ewan.
