Two reasons: The fingers/tracks were tinned with a soldering iron. This wears out, you can see scars in the tinning. You have to re-tin it from time to time. Sometimes, if you transport the SDSV roughly, the edge connectors break off the backplane. Then you have to re-solder them.----- Original Message -----From: mimountains@...Sent: Friday, October 11, 2013 5:27 AMSubject: [Simmons Drums] SDSV triggering issueHi everyone.
I recently took my SDSV on the road for a month. It was great, but I started noticing a particular issue started happening:Basically - when I would power it on, one of the Tom voices would start instantly registering an incoming trigger - even when nothing was plugged into it. When I switched through the 4 black preset buttons the red trigger LED would blink at differing rates. I removed the offending card and put it back into its slot, which sometimes temporarily caused the issue to stop.Additionally - the Kick voice would occasionally not register any trigger at all. Everything would light up as usual, but when I started triggering it - nothing would happen. I also found that removing the card and putting it back into the slot would temporarily solve this issue.Has anyone had the same thing happen?Any help is appreciated.C
