The problem is the so called edge connector, where the module slides into the connector of the backplane (I am talking about the white multipin connectors inside the unit). Two reasons: The fingers/tracks were tinned with a soldering iron. This wears out, you can see scars in the tinning. You have to re-tin it from time to time. Sometimes, if you transport the SDSV roughly, the edge connectors  break off the backplane. Then you have to re-solder them.

Hi everyone.


I recently took my SDSV on the road for a month.  It was great, but I started noticing a particular issue started happening:

Basically - when I would power it on, one of the Tom voices would start instantly registering an incoming trigger - even when nothing was plugged into it.  When I switched through the 4 black preset buttons the red trigger LED would blink at differing rates. I removed the offending card and put it back into its slot, which sometimes temporarily caused the issue to stop.

Additionally - the Kick voice would occasionally not register any trigger at all.  Everything would light up as usual, but when I started triggering it - nothing would happen.  I also found that removing the card and putting it back into the slot would temporarily solve this issue.

Has anyone had the same thing happen?

Any help is appreciated.
