i replaced a ton of corroded screws in my SDSV and 7 by taking an example of each to the hardware store.
you need to go to the one that has a full range of parts in the nut/bolt section
the Tags ( True Value / Economy ) Hardware here in Cambridge, MA has metric and english parts. i have been able to find exact replacements for all the Simmons parts in their local selection.
i will put each part in a baggie with a note as to what unit it came from and how many i need. then i can keep track of them all!
for screws, find the nut that fits snuggly and then locate screws that fit the nut identically. it will be easier than trying to eyeball them unless you are good at that ( a carpenter or mechanic ).

Subject: [Simmons Drums] Re: screws
I had to replace a number of rusted or stripped screws for my various Simmons gear re-furb projects.. I was able to source some that were close but not exactly the same at a local Nut and Bolt shop.
I think next time perhaps an online vendor may provide a better selection and closer match. The trick lies is in measuring the thread and length accurately of the existing and sometimes stripped or damaged screws.
