Subject: Re: [Simmons Drums] Dave regained the rights to the Simmons name ??

That looks to be some great news.
Reading through that makes it look like Guitar Center never did "Buy" the rights to the Simmons name and that they had no right to market anything using the name.

I remember when I first heard of the new "Simmons" drums, I raced to GC to check them out. I was very excited until I actually played on the set. I was pretty disappointed at the quality and unjustifiably lost a lot of respect for the Simmons name. I thought they were just trying to cash in on a past reputation. Little did I know it was GC trying to cash in.

I do admit I bought that 1st generation set, but sold by Sam's Club under the Koncepts brand. The only reason being is I wanted a set to play on where I didn't have to disrupt the house with load music.
It wasn't long after though, I searched to find an original SDS9.

My hope is Simmons will somehow get back into producing top quality products. We are already seeing a resurgence for Moog synths.
