I have one of the ultra rare factory midi units. Great machine to use and looks a treat when running. The midi implementation is really rudimentary, just midi clock and start/stop functions but allows it to work with other sequencers. When I get time I hope to work up a small PCB that can be fitted to existing units to update them to midi. The main cpu is simply unplugged, the new pcb is fitted into the existing cpu socket, then you plug the cpu into the addon board. The new pcb will contain the required components for midi. Also the existing eprom will need to be replaced with one I will copy from my unit. this has all the added midi code required to run it all.
