hi MIchael, thanks for your help.

I tried what you've said with no luck. The pitch of the crazy sounds does change and the bend also...but rubbing the eprom had no affect on the sound.

Then there might be hope, because these noises also occur when the ZIF is dirty and one or more data lines are not working. Clean the ZIF by rubbing an Eprom from side to side scratching with its legs the ZIFs contacts. Good luck.
