Subject: Re: SDS7 + Midi Retrofit & Pads

Hi Ed

Thanks for your interest. I am away from home until the weekend so unfortunately can't post pics. There is not much to see beyond what you would expect. Most pads are in reasonable condition although one has a crack in the back of the casing and there is a chink missing.
The brain has 8 voice cards. These are the standard kick, snare, hi-hat, 3x toms, crash and hand clap. No more can be fitted as the vacant space is where the midi board sits. The pads are the classic black set. There is no selector pad and it is a Simmons EPROM programmer.

Cheers
Andy

I am keen for the lucky winner to collect from Portsmouth, England but would be happy to deliver to the south of England if the cost of return journey fuel is covered. Please note the following:

There are problems with the brain, however. It is erratic at best. At the moment it works for 3 mins and then the display turns to garbage and you need to power it up again. I read in the newsgroup that this problem may be fixed by replacing a battery but I have not done this. Buyer beware, this drum brain has had the same battery in it since the date of manufacture. I no longer have time to investigate and fix these problems.

There is also a mass of cables, some of which have been re-wired to fit a cheetah drum trigger module. It's all in a mess. You will need to rewire the XLR end of some of the cables to get the pads working again.
