Nostalgia does play a role in driving up vintage gear prices. Take the recent SDS1 auctions, for example. No sane or logical person would pay that.
However, the assertion that the SDS7 is no longer relevant and is simply an object of nostalgia is totally wrong. If you spent any time with one you'd know that 'digital' is only part of the equation and that as a drum synthesizer it is still an invaluable tool today.
