Hi John
I´m afraid you have to wait a pair of spurs or a simmons basdrum with spurs appears on ebay. I have a similar problem, my SDS9 comes with simmons rack system and I prefer the look of spurs in the bassdrum. Some months ago I saw a pair of spurs on EBAY and I bought them thinking that they were simmons spurs. Unfortunately they seems to be from  some of the many Simmons copies that began to appear on the market during the 80´s and it´s impossible to adjust them in the bassdrum. of my Simmons kit. Maybe on Simmons virtual museum you could get some help to make yourself a pair of spurs.Luck

My SDS-8 bass was sold without the spurs. Where do I procure some spurs, or is this just one of those items that goes bye-bye and the missing spurs become a thing of legend?

I think it should be do-able to get some type of piping from the hardware store and make spurs. If so, anyone who has experience with this process, please feel free to chime in! Thanks!
