The SDS-8 uses standard plugs with standard wiring. You can order just
about any with 6,35 mm plug or solder yourself if you want to adjust
lengths yourself and/or save cash.

I guess it's for the SDS-6 sequencer or just an even easier way to
interface modern trigging equipment etc. It's been a while since I owned
one and I never explored that socket any deeper.
