HI Alf,
Yes, you would need a transformer - UK Voltage is now 220V AC at 50Hz, it was 240V AC when the SDSV was designed, but it works at 220V AC.
USA Voltage is 110/115/120 VAC (correct me if I'm wrong) but your frequency is highter at 60Hz, so I don't think there would be an issue with the 60 Hz frequency but I can't be 100% sure. The voltage would not be an issue providing you have a suitable step up transformer.
The SDSV brain hardly uses any power, so wouldn't be an issue as your step up transformer (from 110V to 240V) would actually produce less current on the secondary and the power each side of the transformer remains the same.
Hope this helps.
regards
Andy,

Subject: [Simmons Drums] SDSV U.S.A VOLTAGE
hi,
I´ve just get my first sdsv brain. It use U.S.A. voltage so I need a
transformer. There are different models and I´m not sure which one works fine with the sdsv. Could you tell me how many WATTS the SDSV needs?. Thanks in advance
