Hello Lance,
if your sounds at preset 2,3 and 4 sound ok, then there is nothing wrong with your modules. It is a matter of the factory presets settings. The factory preset can be adjusted like the other 3 presets, but with 6 pots inside the SDSV module. It is possible, that there the filters cutoff is closed, so the preset sounds dull and not bright. Responsible for the factory preset sound are R17, R18,R1,R5,R13 and R9. By the way: There are three more pots on the board: R25 responsible for noise bend on the tom and bass, R71, the noise volume and R27, only on snare: the filter reso. You can't break anything if you experiment with these.
Have a nice day
Michael
(To adjust the factory setting of a module, remove all modules and put the one to adjust in the last slot of the case to have room for the screwdriver)

external mixing board?
compressors?
proper monitoring?
listen to it on another speaker/pa system?
tweak the settings?
Film it and put it on youtube and ask the forum if they want to listen? There
are a couple off nerds here who can tell you right away if your settings
arre or aren't correct
and yes,I have some ideas :O)
Greetings Berk
