From my experience, if you are using the EPB, do not use the 27C64 and 27C128, as they are CMOS and require a higher voltage to burn. Attempting this results in either a tick or pzzht sound no matter what the sample is. The only way I have found to get around this is to use a chip burner connected to a PC, and load the .bin files aquired elsewhere. Once burned, they work great in the Simmons gear.
