It needs a lot of juice! That's the simple answer... 15 volts I think to
trigger at maximum and few machines supply that. You can use lower voltages
too, but crank the sensitive pot to maximum and stay at least at 5 volts or
so... Most pads don't deliver more than 1,5 or so (I think that's max on the
pad inputs). So, either ยจ

1. rewire and send the trigs to the pad inputs

or

2. send higher voltages...
