Hello Michael,
Thank you for the information.
:(
I've read somewhere something about a memory pack that is used to install the 99 factory presets??? There seems to be a scsi interface connection in the back of the machine. Do you know of anything like that I could get my hands on to restore all of the sounds?
Also, I carefully reseated all of the cards but when I turn the unit on I hear sort of a "puck" sound coming out of the mono output. No other sound will come out of the unit. Do you know what the problem might be?
I appreciate your advice.
Thank you.
Joey

Hello Joey,
once the battery is empty, all sounds are lost if you switch the SDS7 off. They won't come back with a new battery. Welcome to the club...

Subject: [Simmons Drums] Changing battery in SDS7 / sound issue
Hello everyone,
I need to change the main battery in my SDS7 that I just recently
purchased. I would just like to know something:
When the battery is dead do you lose all the preset sounds? If yes,
how do you get the sounds back?
The person that sold the unit to me said the unit sounded great but
that the main battery needed tp be changed. When I received the unit
non of the sounds worked. I am in the process of trying to replace the
battery. I contacted the seller and he said not to worry about the
sounds and that once I replaced the battery with a new one the unit
would work fine with all the sounds intact.
Is this in fact true? I'm really worried that I just got ripped off.
Joey
