An SDSV left behind ! YOU are The Most LUCKIEST drummer on the face of this
Mother Earth yet, Man, friggin Godhead Dude!
I wish I had that kinda luck. Oh well, have fun with it cause that's what it's there for! LOL
Well, since I joined this group a month ago I still haven't had time to play with my
newly bought used "Riot Shields" LOL. But, out of curiosity, I did plug a pad str8 into
my Fostex VF16 digital recorder (1/4inch jack in) just for the fun of only hearing the
snappy vibrations of the pad as I played rudiments on it... cranked up the reverb/gate/delay effects on my VF16 to get some weird thunder sounds and echoes
jammin (of course, I kept the volume LOW so as not to overload the recorder- don't try
it unless you know what you're doing)...
...having done this, of course, there'll be no actual "drum" tones- just the impact of the vibration from stiking the pad. But even that itself, when tweaking the pitch on the VF16,
gave me some variety of noise to sample for percussive sounds.
I'll have to wait til I have more time and $$$ to get the brain for the pads; as right now
I'm busy in two bands (bass in my deathmetal band, and drums in my bluesrock band)
plus working overtime in my dayjob, And getting ready to move into my new apartment
in a couple of weeks. After I settle in, I'll work on the pads/set 'em up/take pics for sharing in this group.
Keep On Jammin!...
zozo- Tony
