The HiHat pedal cannot be controlled by the MTM and it cannot record
controller events. It can only record program change events of the
selector pad (this means you can change SDS7 programs via midi!).
The feature list says that pulse height and width of the output signal
can be controlled so you should achieve good trigger pulses for the SDSV
