it could be done by a friend who repairs TVs.
it was a very very thin lead disconnected in the transfo....
At the most, I would have had to change the transfo...
but I've been lucky & he could solder it again despiting the very
precise & delicate intervention...
in total it was maybe an hour of work includingopening & closing the
unit.

About the SDS9's phone socket hum nothing has been done...I don't use
the phones ...
Otherwise the phones circuit should be replaced as SImmons seems
having used a low quality one
(for a reason I don't remember)
