OK,
I agree with everything you say here ; - )
no problem Jesper !
It's a good idea to debate how much we would quote what model ...
Let's become more responsive instead of subiting ... Personnally I
prefer that idea anyway ...
I understand well that when you're addicted (as I have been,) & have
no machines yet ,
you don't have much choice than to spend a lot of money to reach
your dream ... (or your fantasy .)...
I think your right on that point too, I think we're mainly enthusiast
collectors on the list ...
People who I know trying to get large profit don't seem very
intersted in our group.
I think you know them too ...
I'll tell you in private who I think they are if you ask for ...; - )
there must have a difference as well between people billing high with
no reason &
the ones who are having a complete maintenance on the unit before
selling it .
But they're all claiming it...aren't they ?
I think I really started to be pissed off when I saw a guy selling in
pieces the Phil Collins' SDSV...
Or selling some SDX the same Price I paid for a full new one at
Simmons' ...
Anyway we won't change the world, but we can probably stay aware of
not giving power to that sort of guys...
About the current value ;
you know how is Ebay ; the luck is making high & down prices...& also
the honnesty (or current money needs) of the sellers...
even if you need to buy a Mercedes you won't be able to sell your SDX
10500, unless you find one crazy guy that will buy it...
(it must be possible ; some guys have a better idea of their own
value if they pay a high price for their machine... ? ) of course
all that exists...
BUt yeah I think crossing informations from Ebay , SOS, mag adverts,
private adverts is more telling us what's the current value.
But remember that some many SDS7 owners sent their machine right to
the bin... I know about 3 people having done that ...
I sadly arrived too late ...
in conclusion , for some people Simmons is an insult or a laughing
subject, for some others (Us) nearly a religion, the value is
probably somewhere in the middle.
That reminds me a discussion with Dave about the TR909...HE found
really stupid to pay nearly 1000 when it used to cost 50 a year
before...
But here again, the human spirit is great to invent Myths...
So many debates don't you think ?
Anyway,
all the Best & Speak soon ,
Patrice.
