Subject: [Simmons Drums] DrumX - from the help file
>
> Introduction
>
> Welcome to DrumX - the expandable world of electronic drumming.
> DrumX's 18 touch sensitive drums and controls can be played with
> sticks, like real drums!
> DrumX plugs into your games port and allows you to dynamically play
> all the sounds on your multimedia PC sound card.
> DrumX is laid out like a conventional drum kit - with areas for
> snare, bass, tom toms, hi-hats, and ride and crash cymbals.
>
> DrumX sits right next to your PC, replacing your ordinary mouse mat
> if you wish.
> You can even use your mouse and play drums at the same time!
> DrumX links to the Kitbuilder software which allows you to make your
> own drum kits, select different drums and effects from your sound
> card, and play along with music CD's.
> Using an intuitive graphic interface, Kitbuilder is easy to use and
> the ideal tool for learning about and playing with drums and
> percussion.
>
> The DrumX system is expandable. Accessories available allow you to
> add pedals, bigger pads, extra sounds, tuned percussion and much
> more.
> Have fun!

> Linking to Internal/External Sequencers
>
>
> This version of the DrumX PC software does not allow you to directly
> link to a sequencer which is running on the same computer as your
> DrumX.
> However, we intend to include this facility in a future upgrade in
> the form of DrumX Professional.
> For the time being though, if you have another computer, or a
> dedicated hardware sequencer, it is possible to link the PC which is
> running KitBuilder to your external sequencer.
> To do this, connect your DrumX drumkit to your external sequencer's
> MIDI in socket with a standard 5 pin din MIDI lead.
>
> Connect your external sequencer's MIDI out socket to the MIDI in
> socket of your PC (currently being used by your DrumX).
> Direct the MIDI output of KitBuilder to your soundcard as before.
> Ensure that your sequencer has MIDI thru enabled.
> You can now record what you play in your external sequencer. When you
> play it back, it will play your soundcard on your PC via KitBuilder,
> so you can see the lights flashing etc.
>
> Alternatively, there is a piece of software available called "HUBIS
> LOOPBACK" which can be freely downloaded from the internet.
> This will allow you to record your playing into a sequencer which is
> running on the same computer as your DrumX.
> See the documentation that comes with this software for further
> details.
> Hubi's Loopback software can be found at various sites on the
> Internet. Simply perform a search using "Hubi's Loopback" as the
> keyword.
