The problem with many of the desktop Simmons units, as I see it, is that
they have the inputs on "top" if you rack mount. My rack is filled and close
to bursting and one reason to get rid of the Tama TS-305 was just that. It
took up so much rack space. Both my SDS-V and SDS-7 fits in the same number
of unit spaces and are still patchable on the back. The Tama needed angled
plugs or yet another rack space to allow patching etc.
My two cents, but I'd rather go with a rack drawer or something. I've seen
versions of this online. Pull out the unit to allow access. Push it back in
when you've tweaked enough for the day...

Subject: [Simmons Drums] SDS9
Has someone ever got their SDS9 in a rack.
I was thinking that it would be a great place for these rather then
sitting on a desktop as they take up a bunch of room.
Has anyone out there had rack ears made for theirs?
Cheers
Steve
