Subject: midi/triggering problem

Hi,

I've got an SDS2000 that i've set up for my son to learn on, i've
midi'd it to a keyboard so that I can use the keyboards cymbal sounds
on three of the pads (hi-hat, crash & ride) - the routing works fine
and ive got the sounds that I want triggering from the right pads.

My problem is that (and I think this may be a more genral pad problem),
when I hit some of the pads, I get a very weak signal, if I hit the
problematic pads with a continuous beat (eights or something), all at
the same velocity, I occasionally get one random spike thats louder
than the rest (usually at the signal strength that I was expecting in
the first place).

Im using new leads and i'm hitting the same spot each time.

Im guessing that it could be the pickup or the jack socket - has anyone
had similar problems?

Darren
