Jesper, I love fucked up sounds, too! I make plenty of those, but it's
all subjective. Some of my sounds are mildly distorted and rounded off with
compression. Some of them are very Aphex Twin. It's all a matter of taste and how
they get mixed in a song. Many Simmons owners are actually drummers like me
and would appreciate a raw drum sound that hasn't been fooled with so that they
can fuck it up themselves and make it their own.

I see we still have gear in common. I have an SDS-V w/ cymbal but no
hi-hat. Isn't that cymbal card sweet? I have 4 SDS-1s. Two work, ones on the
bench, the fourth is for parts. Two Tama TS-206s and a TS-204. No Syncussion.
Sorry. But there is a working SDS-7 in my room! And a broken one. 15 cards and
growing (it maxes out at 12 but who can say they have too many spares.) I love
electronic drums.
