First of all, A big hello to the rest of the group (I just joined
today.. thanks to Jesper for advertising on AH) !
I am the proud owner of some simmons gear : SDS200/400/800, SDE..
some pads.. and..
An SDS-3, including the original 'Premier' pads.. a custom trigger-
box and a personal letter from Dave Simmons explaning some things
about the SDS-3 and an ARP Sequencer he had for sale at that time
(we're talking '79 here).
I was wondering.. exactly how rare are these SDS'es.. I have never
ever seen a '3' around, and I do know my share of synth- and drum-
freaks.
On the case it doesn't even state SDS-3.. but simply "Simmons Drum
Synthesizer". It was built by MusicAid (which also did the first
analog claptraps).
