Hi Patrice
Oh My! I forgot all about that stuff! Yes those Baz Kits are my
creation - well at least creations made from Simmons R&D Dept superior
sampling capbility! Many of them were put together for promotional
use - usually for trade shows. Lot of work went into them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Yes I'm sure !
But I
don't recall where the Akai bit came in. I don't know about now, but
back then there was never any point sampling on Akai stuff with an SDX
around.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Yep probably no point to do it , but I think the SDX archived some classical other classical units libraries, like EMU SP1200 / TR808 /909 etc ...So maybe the AKAI was just the actuality of this period & helped to convince people that they wouldn't need any other stuff if they bought an SDX...
I have many extras sounds for the SDX but the original library is definitely the best I ever heard ... A real astonishing, original & creative library ...So a thousand thanks for all people who was in the team to create that UNIQUE sound !
A machine is nothing without a good library ...
I haven't touched an SDX since the day the company ended and haven't
seen one in a decade. But I well remember how it played. And
thinking about it, what other digital technology can you name that is,
what 18?... 19? years old, and which is still superior in so many
ways? It's really an astonishing creation. I must confess to owning a
Roland TD3 now just to keep my chops together.
~~~~~~~~~~oooh my god !!! ; - ) we must do something for you , you can't stay like this !?
It plays like a
Pepperoni Pizza!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~it sounds that way too ... :- )
I had completely forgotten all about that stuff. So thanks for
reminding me! It's a nice memory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You're welcome , congratulations & many thanks to have been a part of it .
sadly, Just a few people really know what is an SDX !!!
Definitely in the Fairlight range !
Baz
~~~~~~~~~~have a nice day,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Patrice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~PS ; I'll think about you when I will load these kits !
