Subject: SDS1000 conversion help

Hi,
I have read a text file about converting an SDS1000 to an SDS1000M. I
did not understand some parts of the text, can anyone help me? can
anyone show me some pictures of the SDS1000 circuit board to show me
how certain things are positioned? I am very curious about what it
looks like inside because I tried to take mine apart. I cannot take it
apart due to a split screw and I am looking forward to attempting to
carefully destroy the screw without damaging the important stuff.
I do have a bunch of resistors and a few capacitors in my disposal. I
can get required resistors, capacitors, and diodes I don't have at
Radio Shack, where I got my parts from. The only parts I cannot find are:
the two 8-pin cassette jacks
the three needed chips
the schottky diode
Does anyone know where to get any of these parts? I am having trouble
with knowing things, like what an 8M2 resistor is. All I can
understand is the 8M means 8 megaohms, but I don't know what the 2
means. Can anyone tell me?
For when I get done upgrading my console, can anyone tell me what midi
notes are used to trigger the SDS1000 sounds?
I hope I will know soon.
Thank You
Dean Rumsey
