If you stomp the pedal and keep it close, it will "chick". If you stomp it very short and let it loose immediately, it will "splash". By the way: Have I already told you not to forget the resistor :-)? I think, by using the roland FD8, you can go down to 5K to increase chick volume. But for normal keyboard pedals keep 100K.
