Hi Patrice
Thanks for that, it was a great help. Think I might stick to my SDS7, once I get it to work properly!
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew ,
the SDX can be very reliable but sometimes not at all ...
Ask the seller before buying , if he's honnest he will tell you .
I have a good working unit since 11 years now but I had a lot of troubles as
well in the beginning .
& I've heard of some units bugging all the time .
Yes it is really easy to work on ... A sort of small Fairlight !
A very Huge sound ; very digital with some analog filters !
Not as smooth to play as an SDSV .
Therefore you can't compare the SDX with an SDSV or 7 ...
it's a complete another world !
Take care to the bugs of the SDX if you buy it ;
there are some minor catalog problems that you need to know before starting
making sounds, saving them ... etc ...
But it's a great unit when it works .
don't forget to check the state of the FSR sensors of the pads when they are
dead you need to replace them ...
there aren't a lot available by our days .
Hope this helps,
Patrice.

open up the SDS7 and take a look at the Eprom. I have a chance to buy an
SDX, would you consider this a good unit, and if so is it likely to be
reliable or easy to work on.
