I experiment all the time so I don't really get what you mean... But do you
mean feeding a tom into a rack and getting out a snare or a plane breaking
the sound barrier or just sonic mayhem or what?
If you want tones from the drums nothing beats controlling an analogue
synthesiser via for example the TMI. My Octave Cat is one of my favourite
"tom setups".
