I shouldn't think the SDS1 draws much power at all. There's very little
in it. Mine seems to run for months on a set of duracells, but I don't
use it much.

Don't worry about the current rating - as long as the polarity is the
same, the voltage is pretty close, and the current rating is the same or
higher, you'll be set. That goes for nearly anything that uses an
external PSU, except funny things like Alesis kit that needs an AC supply.
