You don't want to listen to me... I'm also using a Pearl Drum-X which
sounds more Simmons than Simmons to my ears. :-)

I'm not saying that the soft synth is perfect, but it's close enough for
rock and roll, and that coupled with the lack of upkeep and space savings
are a winning combination for me. It meets my needs. Certainly hearing a
real Simmons was eye opening because it is a much more complex sound than
you ever hear on record, but in a mix, most of that disappears and you are
left with the characteristic "Simmons sound."
