Hi,
you can definitely only use the analog part on th SDS7 by cutting down the volume of the digital part & sample ...& still program filter / noise & etc...
you can then come close to the SDSV sound (but it won't be the same timbre )...
hope that helps ,
Patrice.

Subject: [Simmons Drums] SDS7 demos / info
Anyone out there have good demos of the SDS7 in action? So far I've
listened to the demo on simmons.synth.net and a couple other random
clips. I'm trying to get an idea of what kinds of sounds are possible
with the SDS7. If no one has good demos, what are some good tunes
that definitely use SDS7?
Most of what I've heard doesn't really sound like the SDSV (i.e. it
sounds more "realistic"). Is the SDS7 capable of anything close to
the SDSV sound? I.e. can you use the analog controls to make an
analog source for each module (like the SDSV)? Or do you have to use
the digital samples for the sound sources, and just modify them with
the controls?
