It may be possible to do a midi upgrade to your SDS1000.
Mine had unused holes in the back for midi sockets, and
when I discussed it with Soundunit, they sold me an upgrade
kit. I don't know if all revisions of the SDS1000 were
upgradeable or why they didn't supply them with midi already
installed.

The circuit board and processor were midi ready - The main
part of the mod was to solder in DIN sockets, an optoisolator
and a few passive components. I can scan the documents
if you want to mod yours.

The midi is fairly basic (unless there are some hidden options I
don't know about), with fixed note numbers, but it workss.

Anyone got the midi spec for these things?
