Subject: Laser printer for PCB artwork available in UK?

From: <d29602960@...>

Hi everyone,

I am still a relatively new member of this group and was directed here following a question I posted on the G-QRP list.

The question was "can anyone recommend a laser printer which is currently available here in the UK (preferably PC-World, Argos etc) which I can go out and purchase with some confidence that it is capable of producing pcb artwork on transparencies"?

Following my posting on the GQRP list it was pointed out that better/superior results are to be obtained with an ink-jet printer and for a while I did look into this option as I have an ink-jet printer here in the shack. However, after a visit to this website...

https://www.megauk.com/artwork_films.php

It became clear that my ink-jet printer was not suitable for printing onto transparencies because of the type of ink used. So I have decided to go with what I know and have had experience with in the past. That is, PC generated artwork, laser printer to create the transparencies and then the usual lightbox and processing of the photo sensitive board.

So, if anyone could point me in the direction of a readily available laser printer suitable for pcb artwork/transparencies which is currently available in the UK I would be very grateful.

Thanks for reading this.
